l'art pour l'art

ABOUT

Drawn to the strange and uncanny, my work often begins with an exploration of observed forms and textures that stir a visceral, sensual allure. Often this inspiration comes from the natural world, like the tentacles of a jellyfish or the gills on the underside of a mushroom. Other times, I’m captivated by the visual ambiguity of materials, such as how wax can look wet and marble soft.

My aim is always to create something visually arresting—whether beautiful, grotesque, or somewhere in between. As my practice has developed, I’ve realised I’m less interested in embedding my work with symbolism, political commentary, or prescribed narratives. I prefer my art to remain unbound by communicative function so it can resonate on an instinctive level, much like a piece of music.

I hope what you see here achieves this goal and I sincerely thank you for taking an interest in my work.
