Building with Mushrooms
I researched the possibility of building a structure using mycelium bricks and decided to make one myself. I inoculated straw with reishi spawn and watched as the mycelium slowly colonized the material, binding it together.
The process was simple and satisfying—fascinating to observe. Over several days, the straw transformed into something solid, light, and strong. The brick felt like it was in transition, somewhere between raw material and a finished object.
